Caslon Italic ligatures

Recently I did some work on an invite to spa weekend for one of my clients. I wanted a classy but natural almost typographic look and used Adobe Caslon Italic. I discovered that this classic typeface has some wonderful ligatures.

It amazed me how such a well known typeface, which has seemingly always been present on my mac had such hidden potential. The flowy ligatures really bring the typeface to life, making it look so different, almost organic and vine like. So I thought I would share with all you typographers out there. It made me realise the potential of ligatures and how they are something a designer should check with every font they use. I certainly will in future.
